"What if he doesn't call?"
"Don't say that. He will."
I rolled my eyes and waited patiently, as Lucy grabbed her stuff.
"Where are you going?" I asked, turning around and looking at her.
"I've got things to do, and waiting for Steven to call isn't one of them. I'll see you Monday." She turned, going out the door.
I rolled my eyes once again and turned on the radio, listening to the local rock station. They had started advertising the next Aerosmith show, in Omaha, NE. It made me want Steven.
Why didn't I ask him for HIS number? I would've called him right away.
Concentrate. He'll call. Hell, maybe he gave his number to some blonde chick and she's getting laid.
Wait, what am I thinking?
I shut the radio off, looking up at the clock. 9 am. Last night I had hardly slept while thinking of Steven.
I laid down on my bed in my small apartment, staring up at the ceiling. I was proud to have such an awesome apartment, all to myself. I could do what I wanted. I was the only one in between two empty apartments, so I had my music up until two am usually.
I laid back, closing my eyes, before drifting off to sleep.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
The ringing of the telephone startled me as I tumbled out of bed, getting to it.
"Hello?" I said, flustered.
"Uh, hi, Lucy?" a male's voice said. I knew this voice.
Steven.
"Yeah, Steven," I said, acting like I had known him all my life.
"How'd you know?" he asked, a small laughter escaping between his golden words.
I laughed a little. "Um, I've listened to your music for quite a long time."
"Oh, have you now?" he said, the words coming off his tongue like they were made of golden glory.
"I have," I said, a look of I-just-won-him-over, on my face.
He laughed. "What are you doing tonight?"
"Nothing that I know of," I said, sitting on the edge of my bed. "You can come hang out here if you'd like."
I could almost see him smiling. "I'll do that. Can I bring Joe over?"
"Of course," I smiled. "I'll invite my friend Sky."
"Oh, the one who drug you away as I tried to talk to you?"
"That would be the one." I rolled my eyes. "What time would work or you?"
He thought for a second. "Um, how about four?"
"That would work for me." I looked at the clock. It was ten am. How was I going to get everything ready?
"Okay, I'll see you then. What's your address?"
I gave it to him, listening as he laughed. "It's an apartment?"
"I don't want to big house to myself if I don't need it," I explained, tapping my foot.
"Good point," he laughed. "I'll see you later."
"Alright." I hung up, and put my forehead on the table.
"How in the fuck are you going to get ready for Steven and Joe of Aerosmith?" I questioned myself.
Steven didn't know I was just seventeen. He thought I was twenty-five. I'll have to drink.
Oh god...but how am I supposed to by booze? I can't just go into a store. They'll ID me.
Skye! Her father owns the liquor store. Maybe she can sneak some booze out or something.
I typed in her number and called her off the wall phone.
"Please pick up," I said, "Please please plea-"
"Hello?" she said.
"SKY!" I yelled. "Thank god you answered!"
"Umm, hi," she said.
I explained everything to her, how Steven and Joe were going to come over and I was stuck without booze.
"There's a bottle of JD right here," she said. "Want me to bring that?"
"Yes! And pick up some food, I have nothing here."
"Really? Have you put away your Aerosmith shrine in your closet?"
"Fuck!" I yelled, running to the closet, dropping the phone. I took the key, locking it.
I got back to the phone as Sky was dying of laughter. "You realize that you're going to need to hide the booze in there, so locking it won't help anything."
I was out of breath. "Fuck you."
She laughed. "I knew you'd say that. I'll be over in a half hour. I'll see you then. Anything you want to drink?"
"Get me something strong."
"Vodka lemonades it is," she laughed, hanging up.
I put down the phone and started freaking out again. I'd have to clean from wall to floor of this place. It had Aerosmith posters all over, my collection of erotic fan fiction, and my shrine of things I had collected over the years from their concerts. I couldn't let them see that.
I shoved them all away under my bed an before I knew it, it was three-thirty.

Chapter One: Backstage Pass
It was July, 1987. I stood in the line, my heart racing faster then ever. I had the tickets. They were mine.
Backstage passes tangled in my hand, as I shook from the concert. Steven had seen me. He touched me and looked into my eyes. Would he remember me?
To get backstage, you had to be 18 and older, which was the only flaw. Being 17, me and my best friend, Sky had no way of ever overcoming the fact that we had to lie about our age. We were the goody-two-shoes of the whole high school. Getting backstage of this concert would make our reputation better.
"Ma'am," a tall man, with dark skin, said, reaching out. "May I see your backstage passes and an ID?"
My hands shook as I gave him the passes, and fumbled in my pocket for the ID.
"How old are you?" he asked, his eyes staring deep into me.
I bit my lip. "I'm twenty-five, sir. "
He handed back my ID, and taking Sky's, asked her the same questions.
We walked into the big area inside the back part of the stage.
"That was a close one," Sky said, shaking a bit.
"Relax," I said, stopping and looking at her. "It's all going to be fine."
She nodded, still shaking, as we walked into the room where there was about five people.
"I guess everybody's here," a guy said, his face cold as we walked in.
"Wait," I said, "this is all? We're the only girls."
He nodded, getting on his walkie-talkie. "Bring 'em in."
Me and Sky looked at eachother, confused, but then turned our attention to Steven walking in, his face brightening up as he saw us.
I whispered in Sky's ear, "Do you think he remembers us?"
She shook her head and whispered back, "Lucy, he sees millions of faces a day."
They made a nice line, where you could talk to Steven and Joe for about five minutes each. Sky went in front of me, as I was the last person in line. Sky talked for a bit to them, and then it was my turn as I talked to Steven.
"Hello," he smiled, putting his hand out to shake. "I do believe I saw you in the crowd tonight. Front row?"
I nodded, shaking his hand. "I'm Lucy."
"You're very beautiful, Lucy."
I blushed. "Thank you, Mr. Tyler. It's a pleasure to meet you. "
He laughed. "Oh, honey. Call me Steven!"
I laughed nervously. "Alright, Steven."
"How old are you?"
I bit my lip nervously. "Twenty-five. "
He laughed. "I didn't mean to ask, it's just that you're so wonderful, and I thought maybe you could give me your number?"
He wanted my number! I said to myself.
"I don't have anything to write it on," I said, sadly.
He handed me his sharpie, putting his wrist out. "I've got skin, babe!"
I wrote it, smiling widely. "Don't be scared to call," I whispered.
He smirked. "Oh, I won't. "
I felt a tug on my shirt. "C'mon Lucy!" Sky said. "It's eleven! If we're not to the apartment now-"
"Calm down," I said, turning to her. "Steven," I turned back, looking. "Where'd he go?"
"Nevermind him!" she said, pulling on my arm and dragging me to the door. "We need to go!"
I rolled my eyes, still looking back. He had left so fast. I didn't even see him leave. It was like some magic thing had taken him, as we walked away, my heart aching inside.
The Beginning
Lucy Monroe is a seventeen year old girl, who gets tickets to an Aerosmith concert, and backstage passes to meet the love of her life, Steven Tyler. She lies to Steven saying she's twenty-five and he believes her. Only after they find out she's pregnant and the baby is Steven's does she tell him her real age. Steven doesn't believe the baby's his, blaming guitarist Joe Perry for it. Will the lies create a feud for a band that's already troubled with drug use? Or will Steven clear everything up and tell that it's his child? A story of rock, love, and hate. Black Roses Forever is a tale of romance gone wrong.
